Isaiah

So it's been a while. Since my last post, I quit my job, we moved, it rained a lot, and I got another job. And Hubby is no longer sick (as he was in my last post). Cool, huh?

Since moving, I joined Bible Study Fellowship (also known as BSF), and we are doing a fabulous study on Isaiah. All BSF studies in the U.S. are studying Isaiah. In fact, I met a gal at my church's women's retreat last weekend who was doing the study at a different location in this area. It's kind of cool to think about men and women across the country all learning about God's plan for His people through the prophet Isaiah, simultaneously.

Anyway, I'm getting to my point, so don't worry. I loved part of this week's passage (we're doing Isaiah 54-57), in chapter 54...
4"Fear not, for you will not be ashamed;
   be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
   and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.
5 For your Maker is your husband,
   the LORD of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer,
   the God of the whole earth he is called.
6 For the LORD has called you
   like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit,
like a wife of youth when she is cast off,
   says your God.
7 For a brief moment I deserted you,
   but with great compassion I will gather you.
8 In overflowing anger for a moment
   I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,"
   says the LORD, your Redeemer.
I love how His compassion for us is displayed in His husband's love for us. Having a husband makes me appreciate this more; seeing how Hubby shows me love and compassion gives me a tiny glimpse at the depth of my Redeemer's love and compassion for His people. It's not deep stuff, but it was very profound to me, the beauty of this word picture.

That's all. I may attempt to keep up this blogging thing a little better. My life is about to get a bit insane, so I won't promise anything. I'm working part time as a tutor, about 12 hours a week. Next week I start a 1.5 hr Intermediate Piano class at the local community college, but it meets MWF for an hour through June. I have chiropractor appointments a couple times a week also through June to see if we can make my neck and shoulders stop hurting and popping, respectively. And then there's the usual Tuesday morning BSF, household chores and errands, and any fun photography, reading, or piano playing to do. Oh, and cooking -- something that has become a challenge again due to working till 5:30 or 6:30 most weeknights. Whew! I'm getting tired just thinking about all I have going on! It definitely beats the boredom that swamped me in January/February.
