Several of my good friends and I have been keeping up using a "gadget" on our iGoogle homepages. Google allows its users to add gadgets to personalize your homepage. I can follow the weather, read jokes, get my news, etc. -- all in one place. My friends and I have been using a social/communication gadget that is simple: a few text boxes in which to discuss "this is really interesting" or rant on "the soapbox." It's called the "Daily Me" and it's perfect for to-do lists, prayer requests, and "status" updates. (Am I using too many quotes? "Yes, Sarah, you are.") Busy schedules and obligations to family and work (oh, and time zones) make personal contact a little difficult on occasion, so we have been enjoying this more passive way of keeping up with each other.
For reasons unknown, Google has decided that some of it's original gadgets will be discontinued. We are no longer able to post updates. The words we wrote earlier this week are stuck there forever... or as long as Google will have it.
This made me think... does my gadget display the thoughts, the words, the message I want to leave up forever? While the discontinuation of a gadget is not the end of the world, the thoughts I left will be there for quite a while. Are those the things I want to be remembered for?
Any moment could be my last. I want to make sure that my legacy is not one to be ashamed of. Perhaps instead of griping about my job and my health, I should be thankful for the income God has provided, for the opportunities He has given to be a light in the workplace, and for even waking up to a new day in which I can give Him glory, despite the cold I've been fighting and being exhausted from working late.
What do your "last words" say about you?

A valid point. It's always important to watch your words, what may be a passing moment for you could stick with someone else forever. That's how supervillains are made!
Very good point...
So sad...I was wondering why no one was updating!
