Book Review - The Waiting Place

I just completed a delightful read by Eileen Button - The Waiting Place. In this collection of short stories from her own life, Mrs. Button cleverly and heart-wrenchingly highlights life's little waiting places, the times when there's nothing to do but pray and wait. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to call her up and ask her out for coffee. Her mastery of the English language made each story seem like a novel in itself, and I found myself walking right along with her through death, tough family illness, job struggles, and marriage. Take a chapter a night, and you'll have plenty to think and dream about! I give this book as many stars as I can! Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to be reminded that the hard times as well as the good times teach us that there are bigger things than ourselves. It's the little things in life that make us who we are.

Sounds good. I will have to keep it on the radar! It sounds from your description similar to A Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. I just got that one and can't wait to dig in!
